Hi! I’m C.C. Wiley and I write historical romance. Welcome to my website!
I’m a farm girl at heart. I tried the city life and find that I like wide open spaces, with rolling hills, fresh air, blue skies, and a little quiet. It just feels right. Growing up on a farm in Indiana I soon learned to escape the never-ending chores by storytelling. I’d slip off to the barn or the fields and settle into a book that would take me away. Before long, I started creating my own stories to keep myself entertained. Eventually, adult responsibilities took over. I put away my storytelling, but never my love for reading.
I admit it. I have an eclectic taste for just about anything to read. Heck, as my mom tells it, I read the set of encyclopedias when I was a kid. I just wish I would have retained all that knowledge. Imagine my joy when my memory engages and something from some deep dark place from years gone by actually pops in my head. Yes, I like to read everything I can get my hands on. But given a choice, I’d choose a yummy, well-written, historical romance that is chock-full of hope, love and a Happy Ever After.
One year, after a fabulous trip to England and an exceptionally long Wisconsin winter, my fascination with historical romance blossomed from reading them to needing to write them. I just couldn’t get the dream out of my head. I had to write.
One of the wisest steps I took as a writer with a dream was to join the Romance Writers of America. Soon after joining that organization, I began the arduous task of learning all I could about writing a story. Those lessons continue every day.
I believe there are wonderful courageous characters waiting for someone to tell their story. When I write, my goal is to capture a moment in time, where the threads of history, adventure, hope, passion and love, sweep the reader away. I’ve completed three 15th century historical romances involving a secret brotherhood of knights and the women who capture their hearts, even while fighting against deceit, treason and death. In October 2009, my first novel, Knight Dreams: Knights of the Swan, Book 1, was published by Samhain Publishing as an eBook. In August 2010, it will also be available as a trade paperback. I’m presently working on my fourth historical romance novel. Each time I begin a new novel I’m excited to discover their tale.
It’s my hope that each adventurous historical romance, chock-full of hope, passion, and a Happy Ever After ending I write will touch the reader and carry them away to another place and time, where hopes and dreams abound.
My dream is just getting started. So lift a glass, if you will.
“To hopes, dreams, and the possibilities of it all!” CHEERS!
